The event spotlights the practices of Ra煤l C谩rdenas Osuna, founder of the artist collective Torolab, and Guadaulpe Maravilla, a visual artist, choreographer, and healer.
Both C谩rdenas, a native of Tijuana, Mexico, where Torolab was founded, and Maravilla, who arrived to New York as an undocumented child fleeing the Salvadoran Civil War, have crafted transdisciplinary practices that respond to and transform trauma and violence using collective, artistic, spatial, and performative methods.
Their presentations will be followed by a conversation and Q&A; the entire program will be presented in Spanish with Spanish-English interpretation services.
