The ����Ӱҵ LGBTQ+ Student Center Presents “Queering ����Ӱҵ”: an LGBTQ+ Mural Project

The “Queering ����Ӱҵ” Mural Project is A project to share community and storytelling among ����Ӱҵ's LGBTQ+, questioning, and allied students, staff, faculty.

Suggested by the LGBTQ+ Student Center's Student Advisory Board and inspired by (you can also check out the website for inspiration on what to write)

How it works: ����Ӱҵ's LGBTQ+ folks and allies share their stories or identities on the construction paper and marker provided. Choose your favorite color paper, write, and drop it in the lavender box. Feel free to be completely anonymous or sign your name.

What can I write about?: It can be a sentence, or two, a paragraph, or a drawing about:

• Stories of coming out
• Stories in the closet
• Encounters with violence
• Moments of rapturous love
• Anything that tells your LGBTQ+ story

How do I see the mural?: The "Queering ����Ӱҵ" Mural will be displayed in The LGBTQ+ Student Center (NAC 1/101B) on National Coming Out Day (Tuesday, Oct. 11th) and remain a permanent display on our campus. Submissions welcome throughout Oct. 11th.

This mural project is made possible through the generous support of LaGuardia Community College, the New York City Council, and the New York City Council LGBT and Queer Caucus, and with the additional support of the ����Ӱҵ Health and Wellness Office, The Colin Powell School for Civic And Global Leadership, and the ����Ӱҵ Division of Student Affairs.
