Property Management

Capital assets are a vital part of The City University of New York's (CUNY) resources and represent a major budget expenditure. CUNY policy requires accurate tracking, capitalization, and depreciation of property, plant, and equipment in compliance with accounting, tax, and regulatory standards.

The Office of Property Management is responsible for recording, performing inventory, and disposing of capital assets in accordance with CUNY's Capital Asset Policy. All qualifying assets must be tagged and recorded in CUNYfirst. City College's Property Manager oversees long-term assets under its jurisdiction, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with federal regulations, including OMB Circulars A-110  &  A-21.

Off-Campus Use of Equipment

Prior approval is required before removing City College assets off-campus. A completed Off-Campus Equipment form must be submitted before relocation.

Equipment Disposal

The disposal of all equipment requires a Property Control Form, which must be completed and signed by the requestor and the Department Head, and submitted via email to property@ccny.cuny.edu . The same form may be used for mass disposals.
