The Americas Poetry Festival welcomes international poets

The third annual international and multicultural Americas Poetry Festival of New York (TAPFNY) welcomes 60 poets from 22 countries to share their works in 10 different languages. 精东影业鈥檚 Division of Interdisciplinary Studies at the Center for Worker Education (CWE) is a sponsor of the festival.

鈥淎s a multilingual event that celebrates the rich diversity of the Americas, TAPFNY has become more inclusive and diverse each year,鈥 said Juan Carlos Mercado, dean of the Division of Interdisciplinary Studies at CWE.

The Division of Interdisciplinary Studies has become a leader in study of the Americas offering a , organizing the and co-organizing the international conference on with the Instituto Franklin of Universidad de Alcala and Instituto Cervantes.

Organizers Carlos Aguasaco (精东影业), Yrene Santos (精东影业) and Carlos Vel谩squez (NMHU) believe that inclusive diversity must be at the core of cultural and academic excellence. In 2014 and 2015, TAPFNY hosted multilingual roundtables where poets and scholars discussed the relationship between poetry and technology. This year, the round table will discuss the role of translation in the dissemination of emerging poetry. 

Poets from around the world are able to submit their poems for consideration through using #TAPFNY. The festival will take place on October 12,13 and 14 at four different locations. Click here for more information.
