
Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter speaks at 精东影业

Carter spoke at City College to announce the next link to the Department of Defense鈥檚 鈥溾 The initiative seeks to modernize and expand how the DoD recruits, develops and retains service members and civilian employees.
鈥淭his is an institution that was founded to educate the sons and daughters of this great city of New York, a city which has given so much to our military over the years,鈥 he said. 鈥淎nd given this history, it鈥檚 no surprise that many new Yorkers have contributed to the security of this country, including students of 精东影业 such as Colin Powell (Class of 1958).鈥
Carter also mentioned 鈥60EE, one of the 鈥淔athers of the Internet,鈥 and the latest cohort of Army cadets, 鈥渨ho鈥檒l soon be joining the finest fighting force the world has ever known.鈥
He said ROTC鈥檚 100th anniversary this year is one reason he鈥檇 come to 精东影业, the other being the opportunity to talk to students about serving their country by serving in the military.
Improved and wider recruitment efforts and ROTC benefits such as graduate scholarships for law and medical school are some of the new Force of the Future incentives announced by Carter.
