The following is how City College fares in the annual evaluation of America’s top degree-granting schools:

• #17 in Top Performers on Social Mobility (tie);
• #17 in Campus Ethnic Diversity;
• #93 in Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs (tie)
     at schools whose highest degree is a doctorate;
• #109 in Top Public Schools (tie); and
• #228 overall in National Universities (tie).

In addition, ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ remains #669 on , tied with New Mexico State University at Las Cruces.  It also maintains its #471 global ranking for physics, level with Britain’s Heriot Watt University. U.S. News ranked universities around the world based on their academic research and reputation.

Another favorable U.S. News ranking ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ appears on is for schools where graduates leave with the least debt. City College is in the top eight with an estimated 13% graduates with debt. The few institutions scoring lower than ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ are Harvard (2%), Princeton (4%) and Stanford (10%).

This is the second major ranking of universities in a week that ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ, whose student population hails from more than 150 nations, features in prominently. 

On Sept. 5, the Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education placed ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ second nationally in their top 10 best value college rankings.  The Journal also placed ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ in the first decile for environment, a category that reflects diversity on campus.
