Dr. Carmen Renee鈥 Green, dean of the CUNY School of Medicine (CSOM) at 精东影业, is on with Dr. Sanjay Gupta, a podcast that focuses on approaching the new normal mindfully, finding a balance between self-care and productivity as well as talking to doctors and researchers about the surprising science behind how one can thrive.

On episode , Gupta, chief medical correspondent at CNN, talks with Green about how to treat a disease where the cause is unknown and each patient鈥檚 symptoms are unique. Green uses her expertise in pain medicine to discuss what causes chronic pain, how it can be treated and which patients are more likely to get care.

Green鈥檚 health policy and research interests focus on pain, disparities, and the social determinants of health. She is also an expert in minority and women鈥檚 health, aging, and diversity in academic medicine.  

She is also the Medical Professor in the Department of Community Health and Social Medicine, Bert Brodsky Chair and Professor at the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership. Her published articles focused on the 鈥渦nequal burden of pain鈥 shouldered by minorities and race-based disparities in hospital security calls and are considered foundational.
