Interested in learning South African and Mexican printmaking in the comfort of your home this summer? Or studying how plagues have influenced humankind through the ages? Then sign up for ����Ӱҵ’s first distance-learning based “Summer at City” program designed to preserve the summer school tradition at ����Ӱҵ in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.  

The program features three sessions, the first of which is underway. Highlights of Session 2 -- from July 6 to July 30 – include the art class “South Africa and Mexican Printmaking,” and science offerings such as “Methods of Astronomy,” and a highly pertinent biology course entitled “Disease and History: How Plagues Have Influenced Humankind Through the Ages.”

There’s also the chemistry class “A Biography of SARS-CoV-2.” Apply by June 25 to experience these and other offerings in Session 2.

“Summer at City” concludes with a third session July 31 to Aug. 21. Courses include the intriguing psychology offering, “The Psychology of Music,” and for anthropology buffs, a class entitled “Human Origins.”

Like at most educational institutions in the United States, instruction at ����Ӱҵ went online at the outbreak of COVID-19 in early spring. This is the first time that all summer classes at ����Ӱҵ have been offered online.
