����Ӱҵ has jumped 52 places from last year in the latest  published today. Top performances in several categories including social mobility (#17) and undergraduate teaching (#61) have earned City College a  joint #176 spot overall among an elite pool of 389 institutions that made the final cut in the 2021 rankings.     

The following is how ����Ӱҵ fares in the annual evaluation of America’s top degree-granting schools:

• #17 in Social Mobility - National Universities (tie);
• #61 in Undergraduate Teaching - National Universities (tie);
• #87 Top Public Schools -- National Universities (tie);
• #90 Best Undergraduate Engineering – Doctorate (tie);  
• #104 Best Undergraduate Computer Science (tie); and
• #176 overall in National Universities (tie). 

The latter ranking is a huge leap from #228 last year. According to U.S. News & World Report, schools in the National Universities category offer a full range of undergraduate majors, plus master's and doctoral programs. These colleges also are committed to producing groundbreaking research. .

With the exception of social mobility where it maintained its #17 position from last year, the 2021 rankings see ����Ӱҵ climb in all the other categories. 

For instance, the #90 ranking for best undergraduate engineering program at a school whose highest degree is a doctorate is three places better than last year. ����Ӱҵ also makes a considerable jump in the top public schools category, from #109 previously to #87 this time.

Overall, U.S. News & World Report’s latest recognition adds to ����Ӱҵ’s high profile in major rankings this year. Other recent rankings include:

• Money Magazine and University HQ listing City College as a best value school;
• The American Institute of Physics ranking ����Ӱҵ as a top producer of physics graduates;
• Ranking from the Princeton Review as one of the best colleges in the Northeast; 
• Recognition from the Academic Ranking of World Universities as among the best schools globally; 
• U.S. News & World Report ranking of ����Ӱҵ’s Grove School of Engineering as one of the best graduate schools.
