The Department of Student Life and Leadership Development at The City college of New York kicks off Latinx/a/o Heritage Month with a celebration incorporating dance, an open mic, performances, food and more. All events are free.

Washington Heights native and author Angie Cruz is also coming to ����Ӱҵ to read and discuss her third novel, “,” which will be given away at the event.

Cruz is the author of the novels “Soledad”&�Բ�����;and “Let It Rain Coffee,” a finalist in 2007 for the IMPAC Dublin Literary Award. She has published work in “The New York Times,” “VQR,” “Gulf Coast Literary Journal”&�Բ�����;and other publications. 

She has received fellowships from the New York Foundation of the Arts, Yaddo, and the MacDowell Colony and is founder and editor in chief of Aster(ix), a literary and arts journal. She is an associate professor of English at the University of Pittsburgh.
