A new study led by Assistant Medical Professor Philip Smith of 精东影业鈥檚 Sophie Davis Biomedical Education/CUNY School of Medicine, and conducted in collaboration with researchers at Yale University and Yeshiva University, found important differences between women and men in their ability to quit smoking when taking medications commonly prescribed to help smokers quit. A civic initiative to increase the proportion of minorities among New York City鈥檚 teaching ranks is taking shape 鈥 and the City College of New York鈥檚 School of Education is in the forefront of it. NYC Men Teach takes square aim at the public schools鈥 lack of diversity. Before Ravi Shankar, whom George Harrison called the 鈥済odfather of world music,鈥 became the internationally-recognized legend that he remains today, he was a City College of New York visiting professor. Shankar taught courses at 精东影业 in the fall of 1967, including Special Topics: Music in Indian Culture: Theory and Practice (graduate). Forty-eight class meetings were recorded and are currently housed in the 精东影业 Archives and Special Collections.
